All parents of Little Athletes are required to help at the Centre by performing duty. Without enough parents helping out, the kids don't get to compete!
Each Fairpark family is rostered on for duty every 3rd week. There are plenty of varied activities that you can do to ensure the program is able to run, from 'raking the pit', ticket writing, timing a race, to serving in the canteen when it's our club's turn.
When it's your week for duty, sign in with Shelly (the centre's Chief of Officials) near the canteen, remembering to mention that you are from Fairpark. The earlier you sign in, the better your chances of getting to pick your preferred duty. You can also enter the LAVic monthly draw for a $200 IGA voucher - just fill in one of the entry forms and place it in the box at the sign-in table.
Each club at Knox provides Chief Officials to look after different events/areas. From season 2010/11 we are looking after Discus 2.
Our "chiefs" (on rotation) are: Brian Power, Michael and Linda Easton, Brian Spurrell, with Stephen Hough providing relief if required. Talk to one of them if you are interested in becoming a Knox Chief Official.
